Fantastic Commentary on Matthew's Gospel

There are many good commentaries on Matthew's Gospel, both of a scholarly nature, and of a devotional one. This book is a melding- very successful- of these two kinds of approaches. I had the good fortune to have Fr. Montague as my teacher when I was a student at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, right after he came back from Nepal, and can attest to his skill in balancing faith and scholarship. I encourage people who prefer, or would benefit, from this kind of approach to pick up this text to use in studying Matthew's Gospel.

Will their love survive?

After falling for Alexander and Alexia in book one, I suspected that things may take a turn for the worse in the second book. After all who's going to read a series where everyone is always happy-go-lucky and in love without any of the drama?
However, this book did not go quite as I expected. While in Dubai, to check on the status of one of his hotels, Alexander and Alexia are forced to deal with some issues from their pasts. As more details of Alexander's sordid history comes to the forefront Alexia starts to doubt her place in his world, not that I blame her. How can this handsome, wealthy, playboy ever really settle down? As these fears continue to weigh on Alexia, Alexander begins to show a pattern of possessive and domineering behavior.
When they return to Zurich, Alexia's worst fears are confirmed when she finds Alexander in a compromising position with a woman from his past. Will these two be able to work past their issues and find love with one another? At this point I'm not so sure.
Thank goodness I already have the third book so I can jump right back into their story and get some answers:)

Really Good Series

This book is much more emotional and intense than the first one, but I have really enjoyed reading both of them. There were many times in this book that Alexander was a little too possessive and too jealous for me, but then he would make up for it later. He definitely has some secrets that are giving him issues, but the question is, does he really love Alexia? Alexia is having lots of trouble trusting Alexander, and having confidence in their relationship. Now let me tell you, Sharlyn G. Branson really knows how to write some scorching, sizzling, hot sex scenes. They definitely don't have any issues there. Warning: This book does have a really big cliffhanger. I want to quickly get started reading the next book to see what happens next. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review.

In this book we see more of Alexia insecurities in the relationship with Alexander. Alex past is coming back to bite him in the butt when Alexia are asking him questions he knew that would hurt her. I can see that Alexander really loves her and he is doing his best to show her. Oh, I so dislike Vanessa by the way. Another cliffhanger. Now I have to find out what's going on. Will their love survive or will it be over for Alexia and Alexander? I can't wait to read the next book.

“Alexia, be more responsible and check your cell from now on.” He sounded like my father, which made me roll my eyes."

“God, how soft your lips are. You’re so sweet. What have you done to me, Alexia? I’m losing myself in you,” he whispered, his lips touching mine. “I want you forever. I want you to be mine. Just mine.”

“You make me want you all the time, Alexia. No other woman has had such power over me. And you must remember this once and for all.”

“I hear every word, baby. It’s you who’s not hearing me. You are made for me. Just for me. I’ve finally met the woman of my life and I want to be with her, with YOU.”

Francesco took a step toward me, hugged me, and we were about to give each other pecks on the cheeks when Alexander grabbed me by the waist and pulled me toward him in a gesture of possession. He was showing a sense of property toward me, keeping me only for himself and preventing any man from touching me. He’d managed to drill that into me already. I hadn’t met a more jealous man in my life.

“We have to talk,” he said in a quiet and seemingly calm voice.

Where's the beef?

Okay this book is just 147 pages, I was okay with that, HOWEVER there are 28 BLANK pages and 15 pages with not even a half page or maybe just a paragraph or less. So it is really only 111 pages which is almost a pamphlet that is 50 pages 2 sides, you getting the picture. the recipes take up at least 25 pages of this and are somewhat bogus as you really can't give a recipes for Kentucky Fried Chicken LOL. Still somewhat interesting. GOOD INTRO writer can sure write, but would rather read something else by him, where he is actually writing a book.

A. Togay Koralturk holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Southern California. He began his career in Los Angeles, CA as a Scheduling Engineer, earning his LEED AP credential along the way in 2008. He has helped numerous projects pursue LEED certification worldwide, and provided LEED training to many professionals. He has published several books about LEED and green buildings, including the Fundamentals of LEED and Green Buildings and the LEED exam prep series.

Amazing..wait..no just good.

Okay, so I wanted to write a GREAT review for those who plan to take the LEED green associate exam, and are looking for a great study guide.
This is what this book is. HOWEVER, I think its important to let you know a few things if you wanted to purchase this (and that I wish I had known before buying it):
1. There's lots of typos. If a published book has this many, it needs to be revised.
2. While Koralturk explains sustainable ideas in a very comprehensive and simple way, some of the names he used for certain credits within the credit categories are not the ones LEED uses. It can get very confusing.
3. Some of the information does not seem relevant at first, but the point is that it all ties together, the more background information you know, it's easier to make connections and see the big picture.

Overall, the author's simple explanations helped me pass this test. It was very interesting and his terminology and examples were very easy to follow (at least for me, college student who has never been on a LEED project, or a project at all) and I would purchase again. Gave it 3 stars because no published book should have so many errors, and because he should be consistent with LEED's terminology.

Also, he has charts and a glossary at the end of the book that were very important when studying. And the index included helped A LOT when reviewing. It was awesome!

Great Book, Lots of Information

This book is very good. It contains a lot of information on the LEED process, the credits and importantly the integrative strategies for LEED building design. The book is well written and lays information out in a clear and concise manner. All important information is highlighted in bold fonts and it's easy to look up later on. He even includes a glossary of important terms in the back of the book along with other important appendices. This is probably the greatest LEED Green Associate book out there. All others just seem way to thin and/or poorly written and put together. It's not even boring to read either due to how it's laid out which is really saying something.

If you are new to the LEED V4 rating system or LEED in general and you are interested in learning about it then this is certainly a good book. Or even if you want to use it to take the exam it's good for that too. Highly recommended compared to other books. He uses good language and examples to casually explain items no one would know about like open grid pavement systems, dry ponds and bioswales. I was shocked of how much information is included and how well it was written.

This was the primary book I used to study for the LEED Green Associate/AP BD+C exam and I passed, the first time. I used this book along with some practice questions found online. So, it's definitely worth looking at especially for the price.

Yes! I'm the first reviewer! Number one is the only one! Haha! That is my joke. Speaking of jokes, Dr. Cain's book is very cool. It's easy and fun and informative. I appreciate the well researched info and the jokes. Some are a little cheezy, but I have to say I really liked the one with the punch like, 'no pun in ten did.' Genesis! I am a fan of this humor. Love it!

Great technique and how-tos, too shallow for total beginners

I just received this book today, and it's very inspiring! While I'm not a beginner, I can say I learned a good portion from the technique/composition/values parts of the book. The anatomy and the tools sections are very basic and introductory. I Think this is a book for someone whose already familiar with some anatomy basics. As such, they would be familiar with the tools used and so makes that section of the book sort of redundant.

To a beginner, this book is much too shallow and only has a few pages dedicated to most aspects of drawing (anatomy, figures, perspective, lighting etc) so again, I recommend it to someone whose touched on the basics. Someone in an art-2 class would benefit the most from this book, with more advanced/intermediate artists only getting the benefit of certain parts of the book, and, of course, inspiration from the amazing illustrations splashing every page.

All in all, it has a place on my art desk, and I've jotted down ideas and notes and highlighted and bookmarked parts that will undoubtedly come in handy in future projects.

It's ok!

The book is alright but it needs to explore the drawing process a little more indepth . It seems to just barely skim several of the topics that it attemps to discuss whitch can be somewhat frustrating to the beginning artist. So, I would say this book is ok but there are definitely much better books out there.
