Not a standalone book needs go be read in book order

The developing story when read in series is very engaging and an easy read. Laugh out loud moments and over the top situations. Very similar to Janet Evanovich's "Stephanie Plum" series. Romance with whodunit intrigue and developing sub plots.

The Publishers editing leaves a lot to be desired there are spelling and typographical errors but not so many that it distracts you when reading.

All in all I enjoyed the series immensely. each book leaves with just enough of a cliff hanger in sub plot that once I had finished one book I wanted to move right on and get the next to find out how the sub plot developed.

I spent $2.99 on this book and it was not worth it. I still like the characters but it is poorly edited and I thought the ending was horrible. If I had bought this in a bookstore I would have taken it back to get my money. I feel like the author is just stopping at no certain point and splitting the book up to make more money. This is not good business. I know there should be another coming out and I won't be spending any more money on this author. Hopefully, with the money Tatiana makes, she spends a little on an editor.

About the Author

Richard Davis is a Jean G. Blehart Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Professor Davis has over two decades experience teaching a variety of courses including computational methods, unit operations of momentum, heat and mass transfer, chemical reactor design, engineering economics, bioprocessing and green engineering.

His current teaching and research interests include process modeling and simulation applied to mineral processing, energy conversion, air pollution control, chemical process safety, and environmental management.Professor Davis serves as the Executive Secretary for the National Chemical Engineering Honor Society Omega Chi Epsilon, and is active in AIChE and ASEE. He is the academic adviser to the local engineering student chapters of Tau Beta Pi, Omega Chi Epsilon, and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration.

He is the recipient of the University’s Outstanding Adviser and Exceptional Teaching awards.

Significant Updates that Enhance the Coverage of Numerical Methods in Excel

The author has added several new significant methods with VBA macros programmed to broaden the scope of coverage of numerical methods for linear and nonlinear root-finding, regression and interpolation, numerical integration, and ordinary/partial differential equations. I have used the book's macros and Excel worksheet tips to tackle several challenging problems using Excel as my numerical platform. It seems I no longer need to switch over to my other math software - now I can do it all in Excel! The versatile cspline and kspline and integration user functions alone make this book well worth the investment. But there is so much more, with many practical examples that walk you through the numerical methods and programming macros, functions, and forms in VBA. Thank you for an excellent book on Excel, VBA programming, and numerical methods.

About the Author
Ching-Shan Chou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Ohio State University.  She received her Ph.D. in the area of applied mathematics from Brown University.  She is currently working in the area of computational and mathematical biology.
Avner Friedman is a Distinguished University Professor at Ohio State University.  He received his Ph.D. in 1956 from the Hebrew University.  His research interests include partial differential equations, both general mathematical theory as well as applications to models that arise in the physical and life sciences, in engineering, and in industry.

Progressive Young Beginner Piano Method Book 1

Excellent material for the 5 - 6 year old beginner! You might want to ask for older editions in which the notes are printed larger.

The first five right hand notes are presentd first, along with instruction in time valuues of the quarter note, half note, and whole note. With each new note, the position on the staff is clearly pointed out, as well as the corresponding location on the keyboard and the finger with which it is played. (There are diagrams of the keyboard on which the relevant note is highlighted clearly, as well as drawings of the hand with numbered fingers). The instructions are clear and straightforward.

The same holds true for the first five left hand notes. More musical concepts, such as the whole, half and quarter rest are introduced. The lead in bar and the repeat sign are also learned.

Indeed, I have used this book with kindergarten aged beginners, teenagers and older adults and recommend it highly!

Hands down, Absolute BEST Piano Method Book for ANY Age.

This is, hands down, the absolute BEST piano method book for ANY age. I just don't get the other method books, even the usual suspects, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the students from the very beginning, cluttering up the page. This book literally teaching and drills ONLY ONE concept per page, in the exact order needed to properly learn piano. I never use anything else with beginners or returning non-advanced students. (As an aside, I confess, I have never listened to the accompanying CDs with this book.)

Product was received much faster than expected. Was in brand new condition as stated. I bought this for my 7 year old that was beginning lessons, but I have enjoyed learning from it myself.

The Death Of A Salesman
The Death of a salesman is written by Arther Miller. It is about a family man who tries to do whatever he can, to bring happiness to his family. He was very good at his job, but one day since he did not want to work at a different state, his boss fired him. After getting fired from his job,everything came tumbleling down on him. His family was not the same, they would fight and never get along with eachother. When he was still working he was caught by one of his sons with a woman who wasen't his wife. This made it even worse cause his son did not respect him after that. He would treat his sons like they were still little kids which they were not, and they did not like that of him. since he didn't have a job and wanted everything back to normal,he did something he thought would be the best thing. Both of his sons always dreamt about starting there own business, so the salesman knew he had insurance money his family would get in case he died. He decided to kill himself, so his family would get the money to start there business. He was so unsatisfied with his life that he killed himself. The fact that he didn't get along with his sons was devastating to him. But before he died he had the chance to talk to one of his sons about there whole life and what was happening with them.

A new approach to beekeeping, fascinating even for nonbeekeepers!

Well worth buying! The author, who teaches beekeeping in Ireland, has written an inviting and informative book based on his decades of care of honeybees. His experiments with hive design led to a new kind of hive for his own bees, and the book explains why this improved layout can help keep everyone's bees healthier, wherever they live. Every change he made from conventional beehive structures has a reason, and the author goes back to the way bees behave in the wild to explain how beekeepers can help rather than hinder their ability to thrive. A keen observer, it's clear that the author has taken the time to understand what bees really need. I enjoyed this book even though I don't keep bees. It may be addressed to beekeepers and contain plans to build hives, but it has so much more, in history, observation, essay and story, that it's a cover-to-cover read, fascinating enough for every reader.

Must for any beekeeper's book collection. Worth it for the hive-management strategies alone.

Fantastic book detailing some of the pitfalls of modern beekeeping methods and how to avoid them. I've been a keen bee-enthusiast for over 15 years, and some of these issues have been a problem for me and my family. I will be buying several more copies to share with other beekeepers, and possibly donating a few to the local library system.

The author details how to build a Rose hive (including free plans), so I disagree with a previous reviewer that suggested that Tim Rowe is only pushing sale of his particular hive. I think this book is a must read for any system, and could be adapted to the ubiquitous Langstroth hive with a bit of planning and a few medium supers. His thoughts on methods of keeping a hygienic hive are brilliant, and the concept of banishing the queen excluder makes a great deal of sense.

Those of you who are already invested in a particular method of beekeeping, it's still well worth the read to reconsider your current hive-management strategies.

Great book.

This was a great book on this kind of hive method. It is not a book with all the details on how to raise bees if there is what you are looking for, but it gives a good overview of why the Rose method has some advantages over other older methods. YouTube also has several videos from this author I recommend you check out.

About the Author
Ross Bolleter is a Zen teacher in the Diamond Sangha tradition. He trained with Robert Aitken and John Tarrant, and received Transmission from them in 1997. Ross Bolleter teaches in Australia and New Zealand. He is a composer with numerous CD releases, especially in the field of ruined piano. His book of poems, Piano Hill, was published by Fremantle Press in 2009, and was the subject of a television documentary aired in Australia and New Zealand.

Essential reading for all Zen students – and a life expanding experience for readers in any tradition or no tradition.

If our experience of emptiness has been genuine, it informs our engagement with the differentiated world. As the experience of emptiness fades, we don’t attempt to recreate it. Instead we enter our life fully, uniting with circumstances and facing up to challenges as they inevitably present themselves. This is the realm where we deepen our awakening through our engagement with others in the midst of a suffering world.

Not only is this is the first (thus only) comprehensive treatment of the classic Zen expression, Dongshan’s Five Ranks (inclusive of the ‘Cycle’ or ‘Five Modes of Merit) in English, it is a comprehensive presentation of authentic Zen in the 21st century.

Besides in depth commentary on the form and essence of the Five Ranks and Cycle of Merit, this book provides a wealth of background information and source material for allowing readers to appreciate the full context of Dongshan’s Five Ranks from an informed and accurate perspective. This information and material includes such things as sections on ‘The Philosophical Heritage of the Five Ranks’ (discussing essential Zen sources like Nagarjuna, the I-Ching, and Huayen Buddhism), ‘Working With the Five Ranks’ (discussing approaches for ‘study’ and ‘practice’ including their role in koan training, as well as possible approaches for shikantaza practitioners), and ‘The Five Modes of Time and Timelessness’ (discussing the nature of ‘time’ in Zen/Buddhism). This book also includes two translations of two of the classic treatises on the Five Ranks, one by Caoshan Benji (840-901), and one by Linji Yixuan (d. 866).

One particular characteristic of Ross Bolleter’s expression is his rare insight into the nature and role of language in Zen practice-enlightenment. Unlike many Zen writers, Bolleter does not shy away from the fact (or worse, deny it) that Zen language is not independent of Zen itself. For instance he writes:

…the Five Ranks are not simply expedient teachings. They are a direct presentation of the inexpressible, essential Way. It is true that this is the default mode for all language and communication, but, especially with regard to the Five Ranks, I feel that Dongshan consciously and deliberately crafted them to focus, and as far as possible, to directly present the timeless essential realm. The essential cannot be expressed in words; rather, it is expressed as words.

Little did I understand at first the brilliant clarity of Bolleter's prose

As preparation for a retreat soon to be led by Jack Duffy Roshi, I purchased Dongshan's Five Ranks: Keys to Enlightenment. Little did I understand at first the brilliant clarity of Bolleter's prose. But later on when I also realized that this book is an explication of the brilliant "Song of the Jewel Mirror Samadhi" that I have chanted with great feeling at the monastery for many years, I was delighted. That "Song" is an attempt by a number of Zen masters, over a span of centuries, to provide a clear synopsis of Dongshan's "Five Ranks". As such, I think this book is a treasure. Nine full bows to you from me, too, Ross Bolleter.

Must have for anybody involved in ballistics

I received this book as a gift many years ago as I made my transition from simple engineer to an analyst of CAD/PAD devices. If you are interested in propellants you can find many rare references and very good working closed form solutions. A majority of the work comes out of Europe so those of us in the US will be pleasantly surprised at what we can find. One word of caution to the user who has been educated with Sutton - the derivations are different and tend to be stretched out over the chapters but are very useful. For anyone in the field of rocket propulsion the "red-book" must be in your library. If you are in CAD/PAD or gun propulsion the propellant information is good -keep it with your Corner or Hunt as a key reference, most everything is steady-state.

An excellent text about solid rocket technology

An excellent text about solid rocket technology. Every important topic is covered from thermodynamics to production. There are a lot of interesting and useful design and engineering information. The book was written by multiple authors, each an expert in its specialization, thus the notation is not always consistent but overall there isn't too much inconsistencies. The book was, of course, written from a French/European perspective, this is not a criticism, just an observation. The book is probably a little bit outdated, the original French edition was written in 1988 Over, it is possible to find information about energetic binder (RDX, HMX) for CMDB and XLDB propellant composition.
